Have been hearing alot lately about Blackstrap Molasses, its been around for a long long time maybe in our grandmothers era not so much now..
What is Blackstrap Molasses:
Its the dark liquid byproduct of the process of refining sugar cane into table sugar. It is made from the third boiling of the sugar syrup and is therefore the concentrated byproduct left over after the sugar's sucrose has been crystallized.
Health Benefits
Blackstrap molasses is a sweetener that is actually good for you. Unlike refined white sugar and corn syrup, which are stripped of virtually all nutrients except simple carbohydrates. blackstrap molasses is a healthful sweetener that contains significant amounts of a variety of minerals that promote your health.
Molasses is also an excellent source of copper and manganese and a very good source of potassium, and magnesium, iron, calcium.

Some people also greating great results from taking molasses in a glass of water and it is slowing down their flare ups of excema.
In your Garden
Its also supposedly very good for your plants not so much as a fertilizer for your plants but as a soil builder but getting all those micro organisms back into your soil, i have actually just done this for my vegies so i will let you know how the plants go..
1 or 2 tablespoons of molasses to 9 litres of water, place molasses in your watering can add the water and stir water your soil with this mix..
It also can be used as a deterrant for the dreaded White cabbage moth as long as you spray before they have layed their eggs..
Mix a tablespoon of molasses in 1 litre of warm water and let cool..
spray every week or every 2 weeks as required for white cabbage moth.
